Jet Airways denied me job for lack of good personality: Smriti Irani

New Delhi, Aug 25 (Agencies) : "My application for cabin crew position was rejected by Jet Airways, which felt I didn't have a good personality," Union Minister Smriti Irani said today.

At her witty best, the television actress-turned- politician also said that thanks to that rejection, she got a job at McDonalds and the "rest is history".

"I don't know if many people know that one of the first jobs that I wanted and I lined up for was cabin crew at Jet. I was rejected because I was told I don't have a good personality. Thank God for your rejection. After that, I got a job at McDonalds and the rest is history," she said.

Speaking at an awards function organised by the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI), the Textiles Minister also said that she was joining the celebration as a passenger.

Her comments came after she presented an award to a Jet Airways official.

    She is Bold & Beautiful. She is honest, frank, transparent, non corrupt, excellent in spoken Hindi, English, Sanskrit and may be many more. Her presentations on any issues in the parliament, public rallies or with media is fantastic. Wherever she goes she interacts directly with the common citizens. She does her home work properly before coming to the Parliament. She really rocks during the debates in Parliament or in Public Rallies or with the media Interviews. She has thorough knowledge about her department. We need more and more of such dedicated outspoken leaders like her. Opposition hate her Guts and talent. I am sure everyone agrees with my view. What bugs most of the people is that she is from BJP which is her only mistake. Had she represented Congress, probably most of the readers would have praised her as if she is Roman Mythology Goddess Venus.

    Most of the politicians are good actors.... Just promise but not fulfill. Most of the politicians are occupying leading places in Sports, Health, HRD without any experience or qualification. Previous Government people watched your good serials and found that you are good actress and fit as minister.

    I hold back on saying negative on achievers especially females who have started from scratch and reached great heights in India. it is v.v.v. tough.
