Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 26: There are rumours that corporator from Kudroli ward in the city, Abdul Aziz who belongs to JDS, has been preparing to leave his party and join the Congress. Aziz, who was in JDS and was a close associate of Ivan D'Souza in that party, has been coaxed into joining the Congress by Ivan, it is said.

Aziz has been elected from the ward for the second successive term from the JDS. He has undertaken several development works in the ward and therefore happens to be popular in the area. As per information, Congress leaders have given green signal for the admission of Aziz into the party.

However, Aziz says that he has been invited by the Congress leaders to join that party and that he would take a final decision after discussing the matter with JDS activists. He said that personally he does not have much interest in joining the Congress, and that he is considering the matter of holding consultation with activists because of invitations received from Congress leaders, and that the final decision will rest on what the activists feel about it.
