Udupi, Sep 9: “State government should respect Supreme Court verdict on Cauvery water dispute but at the same time should hold discussion on the verdict. The ground realities need to be taken into consideration before passing a verdict. I hope that the government will take certain action on this in coming days,” said former MP JP Hegde in a press meet at Brahmagiri here on Friday, September 9.

“Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments should discuss on water dispute, otherwise it is not possible to solve it.” he added.

Speaking about problems of revenue department in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district, he said, “”If a person wants to do survey or conversion of his 10 cents land then he has to conduct complete survey of that same number. If anyone objects to this, then he cannot continue survey process and suffer for long. So the government should simplify rules. A simple system should be formed to overcome land problems.”

“Even after three years, the state government has not started RTC. Akrama-sakrama land holders did not get RTC for their land, which was sanctioned during my term. Under 94 C and 94 CC, the government has been reducing fixed price, along with that the government has to find out loopholes and need to solve problems at the earliest.” Hegde said.

“I met minister Kagodu Thimappa along with Bhujanga Shetty and discussed about form 9/11 problem. The problem can be seen only in Udupi district. All facilities should be available under one roof for RTC. If people get single window facility at the panchayat, they will get relief. Government should form systematic procedure to distribute RTC for the land and state government should attend to problems of public.

“State government had introduced minor mineral policy for sand because of this, labourers, lorry owners, carpenters and steel workers are sitting without work. Due to lack of sand, people are not getting work. A uniform policy has to be formed by the state government on sand policy. National highway work has also stopped because of the same reason. I request all the concerned ministers, MLAs, to take responsibility of this issue and find solution immediately." Hegde said.

“A fly over is needed at Ambalpady junction, only then commuters will get relief from the traffic problem. Service road is also very small at Kallianpur–Santhekatte, Ambalpadi and Katpady. We need a fly over or under pass at this spot,” he concluded.

This is not Supreme Court judgement but two judges unfair verdict. Failure of Karnataka lawyer nari man. Karnataka government should challenge it and appeal again. Again it is sub standard highway plans.

I disagree with the Supreme court and JP hegde comments.

Indian economy is depend on Manson based on the agriculture. While passing the verdict Supreme court never considered the deficit of rainfall on the current year to release the water downstream.

Though water is everyone's necessity it is one of the potential issue can pull into conflict.

When state experiencing 90% of deficit in rainfall, how the sharing is possible on the basis of full capacity?

All party delegation from Karnataka should seek fresh verdict on the basis of rainfall is need of an hour.

Life disruption, agitation, slogans and burning is not the solution.

Rain is blessing of Almighty. One need respect and share it.

Karnataka has the highest number of spineless politicians, and JPH has become one of them lately.

I agree with Mr.Hegde. We have to follow SC judgement. State Government failed to convince Tamilnadu, Central Government and Supreme court that, why we cannot release the mentioned amount of water. Tamilnadu is not Pakistan, state Govt should be able to convince them. Arrogance of CM is taking the issue this far.
