Ver sad incident. My Condolences to the bereaved families. May the souls of the deceased boys RIP.

Most of the people drowning in the sea are from interior areas. They do not understand the under currents in the sea esp. during this time of the year and upto October end. They think the sea is a giant pond / swimming pool or lake. Most often drowning takes place after consumption of alcohol/ drugs and whereby their reflexes are low and down.

Indeed a very heart-breaking incident where, 3 very bright students/budding engineers from Bengaluru's top Engg. College have literally sacrificed their lives for the momentary thrill of playing in the sea.

Most of the youngsters who get into the rivers/seas for a swim may not be able to save their lives, in the event of strong water currents. Hope more facilities are created for giving swimming lessons and more awareness is created about danger zones, besides posting of lifeguards, wherever possible.

May their souls RIP, and may their grieving families/friends find the strength & courage to bear this irreparable loss.
