Mangaluru,Sep 20: Cauvery Horata Samithi Dakshina Kannada along with Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene Dakshina Kannada held a protest rally from clock tower to DC office on Cauvery water dispute here on Tuesday, September 20.

Protesting infront of DC office, SP Changappa Convener of Cauvery Horata Samithi Dakshina Kannada said " Union government should constitute a 'National Water Policy' which should includes technical experts to solve the water disputes like Cauvery. Since 1892, people of Karnataka and Tamilnadu are fighting for the water. In releasing water to Tamilnadu, always Karnataka has to face injustice. Cauvery river basin is covered 54% by Karnataka , 42% by Tamilnadu and 3.5% by Kerala. Draught area in Karnataka is 63% and 36.9% in Tamilnadu. People of Karnataka were unnecessarily targetted and attacked in the violence and we condemn this."

He also said that Prime minister should intervene in this matter.

He also demanded that Karnataka government should drop Yethinahole project.

Shridhar Shetty president of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Manohar Shetty organizing secretary of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Dayanada Payyade of Cauvery Horata Samithi and others were present.
