Mangalore chosen for Smart City project celebrated

Mangaluru, Sep 21: District BJP president, Sanjeeva Matandoor thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu and member of parliament, here Naleen Kumar Kateel being chosen for the Smart City project.





Addressing media persons here at district BJP office on September 21, Matandoor said, "The central government has strived hard to develop the nation on the whole. Dakshina Kannada has chosen members of parliament from the BJP for the past 20 years and now the union government has presented a gift to the city. The union government and state government will contribute Rs 100 crore each, per year. The rest of the amount will be pooled in by urbal local body and Mangaluru City Corporation."

"In the past few days some anti-social elements have indulged in conversion. Opposing this the Hindus in Sullia came to the streets and protested. The government has to take strict action against the culprits. Such incidents will create law and order situation. The police department should take strict action."

Commenting on the Cauveri issue Matandoor said, "The state BJP president Yeddyurappa has promised all his support on Cauveri issue. The state government should take the suggestion of Yeddyurappa and stop supplying water to Tamilnadu."

Member of the legislative council Ganesh Karnik, former member of legislative assembly Yogish Bhat, BJP leader Jithendra Kottari, and others were present.
