Puttur, Sep 22: A youngster tried to end his life inside the toilet of Kadaba community health centre in the taluk on Wednesday September 21 evening. Alert staff of the hospital rescued him.
Diwakar (26), who works as driver of a pick-up truck at Kadaba, was the person caught in this act. He was the son of Nagappa Gowda from Renjala village near Kombaru. On Wednesday, he arrived at the hospital, and directly headed for toilet. Some hospital staff saw him consuming insecticide inside the toilet. They immediately provided preliminary treatment to him at the health centre before referring him to the government hospital in the town for further treatment.
It is learnt that he is showing signs of improvement. Reasons which drove him to attempt suicide are not yet known. Kadaba police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
