Mangaluru: St Aloysius PU reverberates symphony

Mangaluru, Sep 22: The world of music was celebrated at St Aloysius PU College as it hosted Musical Day 2016 at the college premises on Saturday September 17, a day marked for all music lovers.

























The formal programme began with a grand entrance of the dignitaries welcomed by the band followed by the invocation melody by the college choir. In the inaugural address, the chief guest, Loy Valentine Saldanha, music director and composer, narrated how St Aloysius PU College gave him the right platform to nurture his talents and shaped his career as a musician and advised the students to pursue this passion with dedication.

The principal of the college Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ applauded the achievements of the students in extracurricular activities of the academic year and discussed how each one will morally and socially strive to become responsible citizens. The rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ in his presidential address expressed that the college gives opportunities for the students to showcase their talents and that music can give life.

Arun D’Souza, the co-ordinator of the programme welcomed the gathering and Sanjana, the secretary of the Music Association proposed the vote of thanks. Abigail compered the programme. Also gracing the dais was the vice principal Rekha K Alva. After the formal programme, which concluded with an instrumental version of the national anthem, Loy Saldanha and his team gave a rocking performance. The mesmerising and thrilling display of musical talent from the students that took place for over three hours left the crowd asking for more. All in all it was a musical bash at Aloyius PU College.
