Udupi, Sep 24: Having been counseled by higher ups in the department, Kota sub-inspector of police, Kabbalraj, who had resigned on Thursday, resumed duty at his office on Friday September 23. District superintendent of police (SP), K T Balakrishna, said that return of the sub-inspector automatically indicates that he has taken back his decision to resign.

The SP said that he had perused the resignation letter where the sub-inspector had said that he was resigning due to personal reasons. "He had never mentioned about family problems either in the letter or other occasions. He however, is understood to be seeking transfer. The department is guided by certain principles when transferring officers. If his request falls within the parametres, he may get the place of his choice," he added.
