Karkala, Sep 26: A woman who was walking by the road in front of the school at Parappady in Nitte village near here lost her life after a motor bike hit her on Saturday September 26. Maila, the victim, suffered injuries of very serious nature in the incident and died in a hospital.
She was walking on the highway opposite the said school when a motor bike that was moving at high speed knocked her down. She was taken to the government hospital here, and then referred to government Wenlock Hospital at Mangaluru after finding that she was in need of sophisticated treatment. Doctors however, could not save her.
The bike rider too sustained injuries in the accident. He is being treated. A case about the accident sands registered in the rural police station here.
