Sumell to celebrate International Music Day on Oct 2

Mangaluru, Sep 29: Sumell, the singing club of Mandd Sobhann will be celebrating ‘International Music Day’ at the 178th monthly theatre, on Sunday October 2 at Kalaangann, in the city at 6.30 pm.

Sumell will be presenting 4 Konkani songs from various dialects – a Goan Manddo, a GSB song, a Siddi song and a Mangalurean song, ‘Ranni Kogull’ Jacqueline Fernandes will be singing a Latin, a Spanish, an English, a Srilankan and a Tamil song, Tagore Das will be singing a Hindi song and North Eastern singers will be presenting a Naga song. A Siddi team from Uttara Kannada and a GSB group of singers will also be part of the celebrations. The singers will be backed by music by – Sanjay Rodrigues, Sanjeeth Rodrigues, Roshan Crasta, Jerome Coelho, Alron Rodrigues and Bhavana Shenoy.

On the occasion, Sumell will be honouring Gladys Silver, for her outstanding service in the field of music, as music teacher.
