St Philomena College conducts training programme in painting

Puttur, Oct 4: The fine arts association of St Philomena College here organized training programme in painting and evaluation of EC/CC activity on October 1 at Spandana Seminar Hall.

Chaithra K S, department of chemistry participated as the resource person. She said, "Arts has the capacity to engage everyone. There are no barriers of race, religion, culture, geography or socioeconomic levels."

Professor Vishnu Bhat, vice principal, in his presidential address said, "Fine arts provides learners with non-academic benefits such as promoting self esteem, motivation, cultural exposure, creativity, improved emotional expression, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity."

The convenor of fine arts association Varija M and co-convenor Deepika Sanil coordinated the programme.

Sahana Rao presented the prayer song. Lavita Ramya D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Rakshitha B R proposed the vote of thanks. Priyalatha M compered the programme.
