Puttur: Two held - stock of beef seized

Puttur, Oct 4: Policemen from Uppinangady station raided a house on Monday October 3 and found that a slaughterhouse was being illegally operated there. Two persons found involved with the act of making beef there were arrested, and 52 kg beef as well as an auto rickshaw used for transporting beef were taken into possession.

The arrested people happen to be Hamza (27) from Urladka in Tekkar village in Beltangady taluk, and Abdurrahman (35) residing near Gandhi Park Uppinangady.

The accused were found preparing beef behind the house of Hamza at Urladka in Tekkar village. In addition, beef was also found to have been packed in small plastic sachets and placed inside the three-wheeler for being transported.

A case has been registered against both the accused.
