Doha : KSQ honours Manjunath Shetty, Mohd Saleem on Engineers Day

Doha, Oct 4: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a frontline community group, celebrated ‘Engineers Day-2016’to commemorate the birthday of iconic engineer of India, Bharat Ratna, Sir M Vishweshwaraiah at Mumbai Hall-ICC on October 1 at 7.30 pm.

The program began with lighting of the lamp by the KSQ management committee members. Senior vice-president Venkat Rao described safety norms inside the hall programme meanwhile Nishant Mateen briefed the life story of legendary engineer Sir M Vishweshwaraiah.

Afterwards, Poornima, professionally a civil engineer, made presentation on ‘Innovation of Civil Engineering’. Seetharamu, senior project manager, GalfarQ-Rail project highlighted on ‘Tunnelling’ and Manjunath Rao gave a presentation on ‘Water Conservation’. All the presentations were well appreciated.

During the stage program, KSQ president HK Madhu and senior vice president Venkat Rao escorted the chief guest of the evening Girish Kumar, ICC-Qatar president and guest of honour engineer Ahmad Jassim Al Jolo, Ministry of Municipal and Environment, Qatar onto the stage.























































































 

Speaking on the occasion, Girish Kumar highlighted the dedication of Indian engineers in various field of the society. Meanwhile engineer Ahmad Jassim appreciated Indian community and Indian engineers for their contribution towards development of oil rich Qatar.

Meanwhile KSQ felicitated member cum engineer Mohammed Saleem, chairman of Team Engineering Qatar & HK Manjunath Shetty, senior project manager Gulf contracting company with the ‘Abhiyantara Shree’ award for their great service to society and achievements in respective field.

TKQ president Ravi Shetty, ICC secretary Divakar Poojary, Bunts Qatar president Navaneet Shetty, MCC president Prakash Noronha, former KSQ president Deepak Shetty, Milan Arun, Arun Kumar, Ramachandra Shetty, Asmath Ali, Abdulla Monu and Prakash Thonse Rao were present on the occasion.

Cultural secretary Sunil Kamalaksha delivered the vote of thanks and ladies wing joint-secretary Kruthika Ashwin compered the program. The program concluded with high tea.

    KSQ thank all the members and other Karnataka based association Presidents and office bearers who attended the event in large numbers.
    The event was a rich tribute to the legendary Engineer & Statesman Bharata Ratna Sir. M . Vishweshwaraiah.
