Kasargod, Oct 4: Officials of the Badiadka revenue department, have seized tobacco products stored in a godown, worth Rs eight lac. Two suspects are arrested in this regard.
The suspects are identified as Hariprasad(22), a resident of Ethadka Putrakala, and Sandesh(22) a resident of Arlapadavu Konaje, Karnataka.
The operation was conducted on the basis of definite information received by the revenue department. Tobacco products are being illegally brought from Karnataka and being distributed to other districts from here.
In a similar operation, pan masala products were seized from Kanhangad a few days ago. The pan masala products were being transported from Badiadka godown. Pan masala was packed in more than 100 sacks.
