Mangaluru: Kemaru Swamiji, Fr John Fernandes chosen for Sadhbavana Samman awards

Mangaluru, Oct 5: "Humanity and Peace, a national campaign, will confer the Sadhbavana Samman awards on Kemaru Sandipani Math Sri Esha Vittaldas Swamiji and former head, chair in Christianity, Mangalore University Fr John Fernandes. The award will be conferred during the Peace and Humanity Campaign Convention at Town Hall here on October 7," said Dr Satyanarayana Mallipatna honorary president of welcoming committee of Peace and Humanity, a national campaign.

He was addressing the press meet here on Wednesday, October 5.

He also said that there will be a student convention on 'My Country My Role' at around 3.30 pm. Krupa Maria Rasquinha of Jerosa High School, Mangaluru will preside over.

Shreya Pai of Alva’s English Medium School, Kushi A Chowta of SVS English Medium School Bantwal, Pavitra P of Navodaya High School, Puttur, Bhargavi Shabaraya of SDM English Medium School, Ujire, Jyothi K of Government School Gandhinagara, Sullia have won prizes in allocation competition, he said.

Also on this occasion, prizes will be distributed to short-movie award winners. The 1st prize consists of Rs 15,000, 2nd Prize of Rs 10,000. And five participants will receive Rs 1,000 each.

During the Sadhbavana Samman award ceremony, veteran litterateur Erya Lakshmi Narayana Alva , and president of Unity Academy of Education Dr C P Habeeb Rehman will be present.

During the press meet, Prasad Rai Kallimar, Mohammed Kunhi, Umar U H, Raymond D'Cunha, Vijaya Lakshmi Shetty, Sajeeda Moomeen were present.
