Mangaluru: Hit and run - pedestrian dies, another injured

Mangaluru, Oct 6: The driver and cleaner of a truck were walking by the road near Talapady police check post on national highway 66, when an identified car hit them and sped away. The incident occurred at around 10 pm on Tuesday October 4.

Both had food at a restaurant and were returning to the spot where the lorry was parked, when a car that came from the direction of Kasargod hit them. Other than that the car was of white colour, no other details were noticed. Conductor of lorry, identified as Ranjith (32) from Thalasserty in Kannur district, Kerala, died on the spot, while conductor, Manoj (35) suffered critical injuries. He was admitted into a private hospital at Thokkottu.

Ullal police have registered a case and begun investigation.
