Beltangady, Oct 7: Policemen from the station here have arrested Sheena Mogera (33) from Mittabagilu village in the taluk. He has been accused of raping a minor girl belonging to scheduled caste at Koodabettu Alangavu in his village.
As a result of this rape incident, the 16-year-old girl had become pregnant. During health check up at the government hospital here on Thursday October 6, the doctors found out that she was into the sixth month of her pregnancy. When questioned, she revealed about the rape.
After this information was conveyed to the police here, they registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused stands arrested. Investigation is in progress.
