Udupi: Vital organs of 17-year-old brain-dead Himanshu donated

Udupi, Oct 10: Vital organs of 17-year-old accident victim Himanshu were donated on Monday, October 10.

While cornea and kidney were donated in Manipal, his heart and liver were sent to Bengaluru through green corridor till Mangaluru airport and then by flight.

Himanshu was injured in an accident that took place on the night of Saturday, October 8 at Mannapalla near Manipal, His friend Harshith had died on the spot. Himanshu was admitted to KMC hospital in Manipal.

Himanshu went brain-dead few hours after the accident. His parents and family on Sunday October 9 decided to donate his vital organs.

Son of Dr Raviraj from Byndoor, Himanshu studied second PUC at Sneha Tutorials in Udupi.

Dr Padmaraj was in charge of necessary procedure at the hospital.
