Mangaluru, Oct 10: Laxman Shetty, senior manager of city-based Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd (KIOCL), lost his life in a hit and run case which occurred on Sunday October 9 at Hosabettu near Suratkal. He was 59.
Shetty was a resident of Hosabettu. He was working as senior manager of the captive power plant of KIOCL. He was to retire next year. The accident occurred when he was walking by the side of the highway as was his routine, after getting out of his home at around 5 am. The driver of the killer vehicle that caused the accident fled with the vehicle without leaving any trace of his identity.
Laxman Shetty was known as an efficient officer who was popular among employees as well as social circles. He is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter. City north police have registered a case and begun investigation.
