Mangaluru, Oct 10: The skeletal remains of a male were found lying in a hillock at Aikala, Kinnigoly in the taluk, on Sunday October 9 morning.
Locals, Ramesh and Girish, had approached the hillock on Sunday for collecting fodder for their cattle when they found terrible stench emanating from a corner. On closer examination, they saw a noose made of cloth hanging from a cashew tree and decomposed skeleton of a male at the base of the tree.
The person concerned is suspected to have died over a month back. The skeleton, about six feet tall, was found in lying position. As the noose was only about two feet above the ground, possibility of it being a case of suicide is remote, it is being analyzed.
Mulky police, who visited the spot, are investigating
