Udupi, Oct 11: Aravind K P from Kadiyali here has completed all the rounds in Oilibya Rally of Morocco held in Africa and has stood 26th in it.

With this, he has been selected for the Dakar Rally that will be held in Dakar, France in 2017. He will be competing under Sherco – TVS brand and sponsorship.

Speaking on the occasion, Aravind said that he is filled with enthusiasm after completing the rally. “Each of those stages was mentally and physically challenging. Yet I put into practice all the experience gained during my training. The Sherco-TVS engineers had assured me that the bike will not face any serious problems. However a lot can be learnt from the rally,” he said.

“My next aim is to do well in Dakar. I am looking forward to it.” he added.

Aravind holds 18 national championships and one international championship to his credit sa far.

He is the first Indian to win a motocross championship overseas for India. He is the reigning national champion. He is the son of K Prabhakar Upadhyaya and Usha Prabhakar couple from Kadiyali here.

He has been shining making impressive mark in the world rallying platform competing against the top sportspersons in the world successfully finishing 17th in the 450 extreme bikes category , 19th in the bikes and quad category and 26th overall at the Oilibya Rally Of Morocco which is one of the rounds in world championship rally.

Aravind managed to use the training experience with Sherco TVS Rally team in the Morocco rally which helped him to perform better and consistent in the rally.
