Puttur: Woman accuses jeweller of usurping ornament, eats humble pie

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Oct 16: In an amusing incident which occurred at Uppinangady on Saturday October 15, owner of a jewellery shop could save himself from the allegation of trying to cheat a woman and prove his innocence through CCTV camera installed in the shop.

A woman visited a jewellery store located near the old bus stand at Uppinangady on Saturday morning and asked the owner to give back the ornament she had given a day before for certain repairs. The owner sought to see the slip issued for the same, but the woman said no slip was issued, and accused the owner of keeping her ornament and trying to deceive her.

To save himself from the charge of being a cheat, the jewellery store owner showed the CCTV footage of the previous day. It was clear that the woman concerned had not visited this shop. The woman suspected that the relevant portion was deleted by the store owner. She also complained about this incident to Uppinangady gram panchayat. On the basis of the complaint, CCTV footages of nearby commercial establishments were verified. None of them showed movements of this particular woman.

She then went back to the driver of an auto rickshaw by which she had arrived at the jewellery store to furnish proof through his evidence. To her surprise, the auto rickshaw driver told her that she had travelled to a different jewellery store by his vehicle and not the one about which she had been raising a din.

As a result, the jeweller was saved of embarrassment because of CCTV monitoring.

Now she should be made to pay for the time spent on all those un-necessary investigations, CCTV monitoring etc.

This Lady definately had mistaken the shop as per Drivers saying.Good she had the same Driver both times otherwise it would have been a big embarassment to both sides. Not only Ladys but men too sometimes are out to cheat. This time one jeweller told me in Bantwal area, one man came to him twice to take Change of 1000 rupees.each time he gave ,after sometime he claimed to have 100rs less.He doubted himself and gave the Money. Also third time he came ,he informed his People descret who are inside to watch him on cctv.and this time too happened same,as he had gone inside while counting.but this time he would call Police and told him he had watched him in cctv.while counting ,he had silently let one note in his pockets.within seconds he ran away ,and never came again. In this case how could she and driver both go to wrong shop?how could they mistaken?

Congrats to the rickshaw driver who honestly deposed that he had taken this lady to some other shop and the shop the owner of winch she alleged deceived her.

It is best that we make sure of whatever we wish to do or say. It is yet to be established whether the lady concerned had any complaint against the other jeweler where the rickshaw driver had taken her to.

This incident is more of a mistaken identity than intentional act.
Thanks God, the rickshaw driver acted as a benefit of doubts.

In today's age, women ought to be viewed in a rather surreptitious manner. They know very well that they are of a weaker flesh and that anything they speak / blabber will garner sympathetic attention towards the opposite sex / same sex and accrue prompt solution. After all it is said that a woman's tongue is dangerous than a snake since it has no bones to control. No wonder, that Eve was the first creature to tempt her husband Adam - and to this very day everyone suffers due to a woman. Shame on her for trying to connive and ditch that jewellery shop owner under the easy pretext of getting easy money. Fortunately, technology played a better part on her and the guy could manage to stand to his reputation. I wonder what would have been the impact had technology not been to the guy's help. With her behaviour only time will tell whether this will ever improve the image the way women ought to be seen and create a drastic impact on the coming generation.

Common Joseph, after all that effort she tried to convince the shop owner and failed, the final straw was the auto driver. Obviously she went to a wrong shop but her intention wasn't to rob/cheat that jeweller.

And, what are you talking ? You still believe in Adam getting tempted by Eve - don't you ? Look gentleman, with the number of abuse and rapes going on today, I am sure those who made up the story will consider switching roles. Because, no girl goes and gets raped but its that she is gets victimised.

I take that you an adult. Please go to a theological expert and seek the adult version of the story, you will understand why it is preached (to children) in that way.

This lady was saying that the Jeweler did issue the slip. If that is the case the actual jeweler can deny that he received the gold from that lady. Is there any proof?

    What was her attire?
Based on that they could have decided whether to check the CCTV footage or not.
