Mangaluru, Oct 23: The MLA of Mangaluru South JR Lobo inaugurated Mother Theresa driving school and auto consultancy opposite of Jimmy's super market at Kadri-Shivabhag on Sunday, October 23.

In his inaugural address Lobo said "Now a days we see many cars in the household and not the good drivers. When we drive vehicles, we should also think about the other commuters. We should also understand that the width of the road is not uniform everywhere. Hence responsible driving is the need of the time and people must go to the driving schools for this.”

Recalling his memories behind the premises he said "When I was canvassing for the MLA elections the driving school office used to be my office. During the parliament elections it was used by MP Nalin for his canvassing. This will also be a lucky office to proprietors Vinod and Raina Menezes."

Speaking on the occasion MP Nalin Kumar said "We need more entrepreneurs creating job opportunities. I wish good luck for the proprietors of this venture.”

“Development needs the co-operation from people. Now the Nanthoor Moodbidri road has received national highway status. Stay orders from public has been an obstacle in widening the road. Same applies for Hejamady highway and the four lane concretization project between BC Road and Hassan. The development just cannot be done by politicians and officials.”

“The Modi government under the Skill-India campaign is equipping the youth with various skills and driving is also one among them. The proprietors must make most of this."

Corporator of Paldane ward Bhaskar Moily expressed confidence about the success of the venture as it is named after St Theresa of Kolkata.

Parish priest of Paldane Church Fr Vincent Menezes blessed the premises and lit the lamp.

Proprietor Vinod Menezes thanked all while Stany D'souza compered the program.

Corporator Sabitha Misquith, co-proprietor Raina Menezes. Elias Fernandes were among the others who were present.

The driving school will not only teach driving but caters various needs of the vehicles like insurance premium remittance, auto-consultancy services etc.
