Bantwal, Oct 24: A minor, who allegedly sexually abused a minor girl resulting in her pregnancy, was taken into custody by a team of policemen from Vittal station in the taluk from Punacha on Sunday October 23. He was produced in the juvenile justice court.
The boy who lives within the jurisdiction of Puttur town police station had eloped with a minor girl younger to him a few months back. On their return some time later, the family of the girl found that she was pregnant. Thereafter, a complaint under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered at Vittal station.
The boy who had been hiding, was found by a team of Vittal policemen acting under the guidance of deputy superintendent of police, Raveesh, from Punacha before producing him in the court.
