End of the article it's written "The driver of the bus named Vijay has been detained by police." For no mistake of this guy he is on trouble. And a youth lost his life for his own mistake. I don't understand why these bike riders don't learn lesson from all these fatal accidents. Everyday I see how reckless these 2 wheelers drive... come straight in front of you threatening you to put break, over take from left side which will either result in their own grave or damage other vehicle... so many problems. they think as if if there is any accident, opponent will get impacted where as they are directly exposed to death... Classic example above. Any ways, what ever you, widen our roads, put speed breakers, put traffic lights... nothing will help unless these are really educated to drive decently.

overtaking through left is wrong. I see many bikers overtaking through left side despite having space on right side No one must overtake through left side Otherwise many accidents will happen

Even though it is the fault of the bike rider..in India one should see the 4 sides of his/her vehicle before stopping, turning or overtaking.
Sympathies for the faultless driver & condolences for the bereaved family.

    Satish R.I.P.

Not a day passes when there are no deaths on our roads. It is very heartening to see so many families grieving the loss of their loved ones and we have become so indifferent to what is going on. Initially, there used to be several comments, but now they are down to single digits, and soon it will become a way of live.

It is the first responsibility of the government to build good broad roads with clear markings. The motorist and pedestrians MUST follow rules and the laws of sharing the road should be enforced on ALL.

In the US I have seen cities being built. They first build roads, then zoning of what will go where and that is all very strictly enforced. Lastly, an overwhelming majority follow rules.

In Mangalore buildings are first built, then in between those buildings meandering roads go around them. Per Zoning, what zoning? Either pay cash and get what you want, and if the other parties have the time and money then fight it out in court for the next X number of years.

So the government is not doing its part, and we ALL go about doing the same thing, learning little or nothing from our experiences.

If you don't know, please note that Indian roads are among the most dangerous places to drive. Although it may not always be your fault, you are at the mercy of the other drivers, most of whom have no respect for the law of this country. And that is because they know jolly well that they can get away with anything as long as there are people to accept bribes.

Where is RTO??? Why der is not speed limit to these killer buses??? More than 50% accidents on this road are related to these buses, reduce their speed limit, fix radars on road.. if found overspeed, fine them or cancel their permit

Dear, In Indian roads in multi-lanes, right side is for fast moving vehicles. If you want overtake from left then you can do it but on your responsibilities. no law can save you.

Udupi - Mangalore is just 56 KMS apart!. How much speed a bus require considering that 1 hour 30 minutes is the time fixed by RTO!?. its hardly 45KMS/HR!. But have you seen any any express bus in this speed range!?. They always move at 120 KMS/HR on a road that is limited to 80 KMS/HR maximum!!!!. Why!?. Can RTO, POLICE answer this!?

This is the fault of the bus! THis bus always moves on the right lane on NH 66 which is actually meant to over take!. NOt only this, almost all express buses move in the right and never allow any vehicle to overtake from right side and vehicles are forced to overtake from left side!. POLICE have to heavily fine vehicles which continuously move on the right.
