Bengaluru, Nov 17: The state government has cancelled the holiday for banks on account of Kanaka Jayanti on Thursday, November 17.

As per the directive, the banks will remain open on Thursday to ease up the tension relating to currency shortage due to the recent demonetisation.

The banks in state faced the worse problem on Wednesday as more customers were seen in queues as they took Thursday a holiday.

The government which realised the ground reality sent the directive in the evening cancelling the holiday for banks.

The chief minister Siddaramaiah said that the holiday has been cancelled to help the customers who are facing the problems due to unavailability of currency notes.
