Mangaluru: Youth crossing railway tracks gets crushed by train

Mangaluru, Nov 21: In an incident which occurred near Ullal railway station here late night on Saturday November 19, a person was crushed under a train.

The victim was Dinesh (32), son of Mohan Karkera, who resides in a house near the said railway station. It is suspected that Dinesh was crossing the railway tracks to reach his home when a fast-approaching train which he failed to notice, knocked him down.

Dinesh used to stay with his mother in his house. One of his brothers had drowned two years back, while another one had died of heart attack six months back. He is survived by two sisters, both of whom are married, and mother.

Railway Protection Force police have registered a case and begun investigation.
