Chikkaballapur: Yettinahole - Rai accuses BJP of playing vote bank politics

Daijiworld Media Network - Chikkaballapur (SP)

Chikkaballapur, Nov 21: State forest, environment and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai, charged the BJP of trying to reap political benefit out of Yettinahole project being executed by the state government with the sole objective of providing drinking water to the districts in the plains.

He was speaking during his participation in the World Youth Convention held at Satyasai Grama at Muddenahalli in the district on Sunday November 20.

"The BJP, which is opposing the project tooth and nail in Dakshina Kannada, is supporting it in this district. BJP MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has planned to undertake Rath Yatra from December 10 onward to oppose this project. This party, by opposing the project in coastal Karnataka and supporting the same in this part of the state, has taken dual stands. This is a technique employed by BJP with eye on votes," he stated.

He pointed out that Yettinahole project was cleared when BJP was ruling the state. Congress took steps to implement the project after it rose to power, he stated.
