Mangaluru, Nov 26: "Smart City is the responsibility of every citizen,” said Jeevan Saldanha, president of Canara Chamber of Commerce and Industry on inaugurating 'Edify – Smart City' an inter-collegiate PG fest conducted by MSNM Besant Institute of PG Studies, Bondel, here on November 24. “Smart City can happen only when all citizens participate and contribute."

He commended the work of MSNM Besant Institute. "The initiative of MSNM Besant Institute in this direction is laudable.”

Women’s National Education Society president Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy presided over the programme. Dr Narayan Kayarkatte, director of MSNM Besant Institute of PG Studies, welcomed the gathering. Vinay Krishna, faculty co-ordinator briefed about Edify - Smart City and Pratheeksha student co-ordinator was present.

Harinath Jogi, mayor of Mangalore City Corporation was chief guest at the valedictory function. V Shyamsundar Kamath, secretary of Women’s National Education Society presided over the function. The overall championship trophy was bagged by the students of SDM College of Management and the runners up trophy was bagged by the students of St Agnes College, here.

140 students from 17 colleges participated in the fest.
