Bhatkal, Nov 28: “It is regrettable to publish news in a haste as breaking news without verifying facts,” said former minister K Jayaprakash Hegde.

He was speaking on the second day of a state level journalists conference, felicitation and discussion programme in Kamalavathi Ramanatha Shanbhog auditorium, Bhatkal.

“There is no dearth for sincerity in a confused society. Journalists should give importance to sincerity,” he said.

The reporter of TV 9, Karvar, Sandeep Sagar, said that there are a large number of reporters working for a very low salary. “It is painful to see people feeling glad in the social media looking at assaults on journalists. Unity among journalists can face such challenges,” he said.

Political leaders and senior journalists were present.
