Bhatkal, Nov 29: A student, Rakshita Anand Pai (17), who was seated in the pillion of a motorbike, lost her life after the two-wheeler on which she was seated went out of control of its rider. The student was going home after college hours on Monday, November 28 when the accident occurred.
Pandurang Sarvotham Pai was riding the motorbike. When a dog suddenly crossed his path, Sarvotham Pai lost control over the vehicle, as a result of which the vehicle hit a roadside transformer. The girl student, who was seated on the pillion, suffered grave head injuries and succumbed to them when being taken to a hospital. The rider escaped with minor injuries, it is gathered.
A case of the accident was registered in Murudeshwar rural police station.
