Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Dec 1: The state labour department is moving towards amending the law to provide for 70 percent employment reservation for Kannadigas in private sector. The law, once passed, will be applicable in respect of industries and other units in private sector which draw facilities from the government.

This issue of giving a concrete shape to this proposal was discussed at a meeting attended by labour minister, Santosh Lad, and law minister, T B Jayachandra, at a meeting of senior officials of both the departments held at Suvarna Soudha here on Wednesday November 30.

Speaking to media persons later, Lad said that Dr Sarojini Mahishi report had in the past, recommended for such a reservation for Kannadigas, but successive governments were unable to implement it. He said that a draft of the ammendment to be brought to law has been prepared, and the chief ministers has agreed to bring this reservation into force. A specific decision on the issue will be taken at the cabinet meeting in a few days, he added.

This is to sideline, Tuluvas, Konkanis, Kodavas, Telugas Tamils Maratis and Byaris. A substantial no. of people are from non- kannad speaking communties. This will make life tough for non- kannadiga people from Karnatak.

Good move.30% for outsiders is good enough. Dont think kannadigas should be driven out of state for lack of opportunities and cheap labor coming from the most populous state in India. If every state takes care of its own people there will be no problem

We Kannadiga's deprived of Jobs in the State for many years. This one will help our new aspirants to find suitable jobs in state, instead leaving the state and look out for jobs in other states or migrating to Europe and Gulf countries.

Why not these people think India as One and it's people can work anywhere according to there wishes. For what they are dividing the people in the name of politics. Scrap reservation. Keep challenge open for all without giving preference for influential people. Only those people given importance who are disabled and downtrodden.
