Mangaluru: Woman gets charred in accidental fire

Mangaluru, Dec 1:  Nagamma Kotian (85)  residing near Mescom sub-station , K S Rao Nagar, Karnad, Mulky, was burnt alive due to accidental fire on Wednesday November 30.

Nagamma had swept together foliage and broken wood fallen on the ground in the farm, belonging to the family behind her home. There was no one at home when she went to the backyard of her house at around 10 am on Wednesday and  set the heap of dry materials on fire. Flames leapt out of the heap and caused the nylon sari she was wearing to catch fire. As the sari got stuck to her body, Nagamma could not release herself from the sari and died on the spot, it is gathered.

A report about this accidental death was filed at Mulky police station.
