Mangaluru: Accident injuries claim life of only son of old couple

Mangaluru, Dec 12: Harish Raj Hegde (36), residing near Panjinadka,  who had been admitted to hospital after suffering grievous injuries after his motorbike skidded near Kolekady, Mulky, on Saturday, December 10 night, succumbed to injuries on Sunday, December 11.

Hegde used to run a hotel at Bunder in the city. He was returning to his home after the closing hours of his hotel on Saturday night when his two-wheeler skidded. He had suffered critical injuries in the accident and was admitted to a hospital in the city. As the injuries sustained in his head region were grave, he could not be saved.   

Harish had married 18 months back and had undertaken a pilgrimage to Sabarimala a few days back.  He was the only son of retired teacher, Shantaram Hegde and Kasturi couple from Panjinadka. Sunday happened to be the birthday of Harish, and his family had prepared to offer Bhajana puja at the Bhajana Mandir on Saturday on account of Ekadashi, it is gathered.

MLA, Abhay Chandra Jain, Mulky block Congress president, Dhananjay Kotian, Mattu Kishore Shetty, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee member, Vasant Bernard and several others mourned the untimely death of the youth and took part in his funeral on Sunday.
