Kundapur, Dec 13: President Sixers team from here will be representing the town in Mangalore Premier League tournament being organised at New Mangalore Port Trust stadium at Panambur starting from December 17. The team, which boasts of players from different states, some of whom are backed by the experience of having played for Indian Premier League, has a total strength of 37. A programme to unveil the team and dedicate it to the world was organised at the premises of the Government Higher Primary School, Koteshwar near here on the evening of Monday December 12.

Veteran Bollywood actor, Suneil Shetty, officially inaugurated the team by releasing its T-shirt. The T-shirt which flew in through the drone, was unveiled by Shetty in the presence of an impressive gathering. Speaking on the occasion, the actor noted that cricket happens to be a global level sport. "President Sixers is a team representing this region. People living on the coast, in addition to encouraging the team, should also shower their affection on it. Everyone should watch the MPL matches being held at Mangaluru and encourage their team," he advised.

On this occasion, Abdul Sattar and Iftikar from Koteshwar, who happen to be Bahrain-based entrepreneurs and founder owners of President Sixers Kundapur team, brand ambassador of the team, Sangeeta Raveendranath, Ismail Saheb Neramballi, Sripad Upadhya of Chakravarty Cricketers, owner of Saudi Arabia-based Raisco Group, Sarfaraz, owner of Bharath Celebration Brahmavar, Bharat Shetty, Gajendra Shetty of Katte Friends Koteshwar, Subrhamanya Shetty, businessman, Sudhir Kumar Shetty Markodu, Surendra Shetty of Sahana Developers, actress, Sushmita, and others were present.

Before the programme, Ayana team from Bengaluru, which was the runner up in the Munna Dance Karnataka event, presented a cultural programme.
