Bengaluru, Dec 17: Through an order issued on Friday December 16, the state high court quashed the hearing of a case presently in progress in the court of the eighth additional chief metropolitan court here relating to cheating complaint filed by actress, Mythriya Gowda, agaiinst Karthik Gowda, son of union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda.

The single judge bench presided over by Justice Anand Byrareddy, which had taken up the criminal petition filed by Karthik Gowda seeking to quash the hearing in the case, upheld his application and passed the said order.
The bench observed that the investigating officials have dropped abduction and rape charges levelled against Karthik Gowda, and Mythriya has filed criminal revision petition against this decision. If the judgement in this case is passed in favour of Mythriya Gowda, the said order will not come in the way of the subordinate court conducting hearing into the charges, the bench clarified.
