Kundapur, Dec 19: “Co-operative societies can progress if the funds are not misused. Several children in the society are deprived of education due to scarcity of funds and co-operative societies should set aside a portion of their profit for the education of poor children and services of the poor. Patience and co-operation helps to achieve confidence of the customers. There should be unity in co-operative societies,” said Kemaru Math Ashram's Isha Vittaldas Swamiji.



He spoke after inaugurating and blessing the newly constructed building of Rosary Credit Co-operative Society, Padukone branch at Padukone Nadagudde on Sunday December 18. He wished that the co-operative society which has been progressing for the last 24 years receiving love and confidence from the customers may progress all the more.

Kundapur parish priest Fr Anil D'Souza said that co-operative societies should work sincerely. “Finance organizations should work for the welfare of the people and development of society. Sincerity and confidence will enable the co-operative societies to conduct amazing work,” he said.

Udupi diocese vicar general Fr Baptist Menezes gave a homily. Udupi district co-operative society's deputy general manager Pravin Nayak inaugurated the strong room. Udupi district co-operative union president Kishan Hegde Kolkebail inaugurated the locker room, Padukone St Antony Church parish priest Fr Joseph Machado inaugurated the computers and conveyed their best wishes. Isha Vitaldas Swamiji and Fr Baptist Menezes were felicitated on the occasion.

Kundapur taluk panchayat vice president Pravin Kumar Shetty, Nada grama panchayat president Mary Olivera, Helen Lobo, branch staff Kiran Lobo, Jacob D'Souza, Philip D'Costa, Martin Dias and society directors were present. Society president Johnson D'Almeida welcomed everyone. Director Diana D'Almeida compered the programme. Society vice president John Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.
