St Mary''s Konkan Community (SMKC) Dubai is a premier philanthropic association in the UAE and back home in Mangaluru and Udupi. In a span of 16 years, SMKC Dubai has contributed Rs. 1.75 crores towards the community welfare projects.

Message from Bishop Dr Gerald Lobo

SMKC is, indeed, a celebrated association of Konkani speaking Mangalureans serving from Dubai. It is heartening to note that the association is shining in the fields of Konkani language, culture, education, social service, and the like.

I am delighted to learn that the members, though away from their native land, have not forgotten their roots and have kept their culture vibrant and alive. The members have enthusiastically and generously helped the needy persons and associations in Mangalore and Udupi.

The new diocese of Udupi, in its fifth year, is in the forefront of pastoral planning and enthusiastic service. The ‘Pastoral Plan 2025’ is being realized through the 18 Commissions in a systematic way in its spiritual journey.

If the care of Christ’s flock is to proceed systematically, we do need the basic infra-structure and facilities: The Pastoral Centre, Minor Seminary and Home for Retired Priests are the needs of the hour.

As a Good Samaritan, the SMKC has come forward voluntarily to give its helping hand to the new diocese. I request all persons of good will to join hands with the SMKC for the cause. The amount collected through donations, sponsorships, offerings, etc. will go directly to the implementation of the said projects of the diocese.

Message from SMKC Dubai President Joe Fernandes

St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC) Dubai has always aimed to be unique in all its endeavours and is considered to be one of the most versatile and generous association by our community, not only in the Gulf but across the entire Konkan Belt SMKC Dubai has had generous and supportive backing of benefactors and donors belonging to the Konkan Community along with dedicated and active members who stood together through rain or sunshine.
