Kundapur, Dec 21: The Kundapur taluk panchayat ordinary meeting witnessed anguish by the members at the silence of panchayat president towards the continued absence of the officials to the meeting.







The members were angry that the panchayat decisions remain confined to files and the officials do not consider them seriously. They do not come for taluk panchayat meetings. Officials of horticulture, women's and children's welfare, forest animals, Engineering PRD, Revenue and labor department officials had remained absent for the meeting. The president was quiet about it.

“The menace of middlemen has increased in Kundapur taluk office. Therefore people are finding it difficult to get their work done. The officials do not respect elected representatives also. The menace of middlemen is such that they are able to get the officials transferred”, said Gopadi grama panchayat president Sarswathi G Putran. Taluk panchayat member Karun Poojary joining him said that people have got the opinion that they can get their work done soon with the help of touts. “Tahsildar should look into it”, he urged.

Karuna Poojary said that there was no use of the visit of Taluk panchayat executive president to Tallur grama panchayat. “New 25 new Anganwadis are created but no appointments are made. Therefore new workers should be appointed soon”, urged Pushparaja Shetty.

Umesh Shetty Kalgadde said that Taluk panchayat should be informed when KSRTC Adalats are held. Pushparaja Shetty suggested to hold the Adalats in Taluk panchayat. Umesh Shetty objected to it saying that divisional officials cannot be called for Taluk panchayat meeting.

Shamala Kunder urged that private buses going from Kundapur should go to Byndoor new bus stand. Karun Poojary said that Buses stop near Sangam in the middle of the road causing road block. Pushparaj Shetty urged for action against buses with permit which do not go to stipulated places.

Umesh Shetty said that Hengavalli, Kalinajeddu V A offices are about to collapse and need repairs. Saraswati Putran urged for basic necessities in newly constructed grama panchayat buildings and Bapuji service centers. Karuna Poojary said that fake TC business is going on in Talluru and urged for action.

President Jayashree Sudhakara Mogaveera presided over the programme. Vice president Pravin Kumar Shetty, social justice committee president Mahendra Poojary and executive officer were present.

An officer connected with Zilla panchayat road works was seen napping in the meeting.
