Kundapur, Dec 23: A tipper carrying stones tumbled on a passenger bus at Hemmady here on Thursday, December 22. All the passengers were saved though the impact of the accident was very bad. A child has sustained minor injuries.
The bus was going towards Kollur after a wedding function. The tipper was carrying big building stones for highway construction work. The tipper driver was trying to overtake the bus. But in that process, the tipper tumbled on the bus.
The damage to both vehicles was severe. The reckless driving of the tipper driver has been blamed for the accident. Traffic on Hemmady-Kollur road was interrupted for some hours.
Women and children who were returning home after the wedding function were shocked by the accident. They said they were miraculously saved as the stones falling from tipper could have been fatal.
