Mangaluru, Dec 23: "People have become rich, people have amassed the wealth but none of them have the peace of mind and only when we use the principle forgive and forget, then we will have the peace of mind", said Brahmakumari Vishveshwari, the convener of Prajapitha Brahmakumari Eashwareeya Vidyalaya.

She was addressing the gathered in the inter-religious dialogue organized as a part of Christmas celebration by the chief whip of Karnataka legislative council Ivan D’Souza on Thursday December 22 at Kankanady Market grounds which was inaugurated by Blossom Fernandes by lighting up the Christmas tree.

"Because of the negative energy we fill into our minds, we lack the peace of mind. As we do not want to hurt anyone we must not hurt ourselves by reacting to what others say. When we open our mind to positivity through spirituality, we can attain the peace of mind but not reacting to the negativity coming from our surroundings. This can be done using the principle of Jesus that is to forgive and forget. If everyone follows this principle the land can attain peace and prosperity," Brahmakumari Vishveshwari added.

Speaking on the occasion Janab Rasheed Ullal of Ullal Dargah said “Islam is a religion that advocated respect of other religions. The ill happenings in the society are due to only few and we must stop supporting them. I hope there will not be any untoward incidents being reported in the New Year and the world is peaceful."

The director of Father Muller hospital Fr Richard Coelho said "Jesus took birth in this world to heal the humans and make them perfect. When he took birth fear and atrocities were prevailing in the society. These things exist even today. We must all strive together to bring peace in this world,"

Ivan D’Souza while rendering his welcome address said "India is a land of harmony and to advocate the same, we have organized the inter-religious dialogue. Let this festival of harmony bring peace in our country and the world."

Deputy commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesh, city police commissioner Dr Chandra Sekhar, MLA of Mangaluru south constituency JR Lobo, Mayor of MCC Harinath, Editor in chief of Daijiworld.com Walter Nandalike, director of Daijiworld media Rohan Monteiro, MUDA chairman Suresh Ballal and others were present at the occasion.

Christmas cake exhibition, Christmas star, Christmas carols competition, and various other programmes related to the Christmas were organized at the occasion.

CHRIST did not die only for Christians. He was a peoples' man -rich or poor - Hindu or Musilm or anyone from any denomination.

This is a great move to have an inter-religious meet at the right time and that at Christmas.

Congrats to Mr. Ivan D'Souza, Mr. J.R. Lobo and others on this initiative.
