Mangaluru: Vinayak Baliga murder - government appoints special public prosecutor

Mangaluru, Dec 24: The state government has issued an order appointing advocate, Raveendranath Kamath, as the special public prosecutor to handle the case pertaining to the murder of RTI activist, Vinayak Baliga.

Baliga was murdered near his home on March 21 this year with lethal weapons. The complainants in the case, who happen to be the family members of the slain person, have been unhappy at the slow progress in the pace of investigation.

At their request, under secretary to the government in the department of internal administration, B N Krishnaiah, in exercise of discretionary powers vested with him, has appointed Raveendranath Kamath as special public prosecutor in the case, it is gathered.
