Dubai: Fun and frolic mark 6th anniversary celebrations of KaDaM

Dubai, Dec 26: It was a glorious and glittering celebration for 'KaDaM' (Kundapura Devadiga Mitra) members when they congregated to commemorate their sixth anniversary on Friday December 23 at Marco Polo Hotel Deira, Dubai.

The programme kickstarted sharp at 11.30 am with the lighting of the lamp by Vishalakshi D Sherigar, Kiran N Beskoor, Sunitha Manoj Devadiga, Shruthi R Devadiga, Harinakshi Sherigar, Sahana Nagaraj, Reshma, Poornima Ashok, Hema Suresh, Revathi, Jayamma, Parvathi, followed by a prayer song devotionally recited by Ramachandra.

Nithyananda Beskoor welcomed the members, sponsors and the media to the function while promising an exciting day filled with loads of entertainment, fun and frolic.

The programme was ably hosted by Santosh Sherigar, Shridhar Devadiga and Nithyananda Beskoor.

The cultural programme started with a spellbinding Bharatanatyam dance performance by Lakshmi Jayachandran. 'Nirel' fame singers Pramod Kumar, Shahid, Divya Kumble, Sukanya Sharath Karkera, Sai Mallika, Ashok Bailur, Dinesh Udupi, Ramachandra Devadiga, Shodhan Prasad, Amog Varsha Bhat, Manish Kumar and Rajendra Devadiga enthralled the audience with their melodious voices, singing memorable numbers from Kannada and Hindi films.

Tiny tots from Symphony Institute Sharjah enthralled the crowd with their superb dance performances.

Vijay and his dance troupe performed superbly well and entertained the audience with some electrifying performances.

Vasudeva Devadiga Byndoor read out the success story of KaDaM, showcasing the growth and social work it had undertaken since its inception, why and how the group was formed, the inception and its activities since 2010.

As of date, 'KaDaM has collected a whopping amount of around Rs 20 lac as KaDaM Education Fund. Rs 3 lac is being distributed as scholarship each year and another Rs 7 lac was given as medical expenditure to hospitalized patients. The contribution given by each member every month is being accumulated to meet any needy family's unexpected medical expenditure, and whenever there is an urgent need for money, the members voluntarily initiate to cover up the expenses by contributing.

Shodhan Prasad in his speech appreciated KaDaM for its services to the poor and needy while upholding the values of humanity.

Mementos were given to all sponsors, participants and media persons for their support and coverage. Manoj Devadiga and Sudhaker Devadiga handed over the mementos.

Stage and cultural programmes were ably arranged by Yuvaraj Devadiga, Satish Devadiga, Pramod Devadiga, Rohith Devadiga Elegant, Ravi Devadiga, Santhosh Kolnad, Raghu Maravanthe, Nagesh Devadiga, Jagadish Devadiga Elegant, Ranjitha Devadiga, Raghavendra Devadiga Elegant, Vasudeva Devadiga Byndoor, Mutha Devadiga, Manju Devadiga, Narayan Koteshwara, Nagaraj Devadiga, Shashi Devadiga, and Sudhakar Devadiga.

Prizes were given to the winners of spot games and raffle draw was also a part of the fun-filled day.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Santhosh Sherigar. He thanked all the sponsors, participants, guests of various organizations, well-wishers and members for their wholehearted support in making the event a grand success, particularly and Dinesh Devadiga and his wife for their support extended to all the KaDaM members in planning and executing this event in an organized manner. Elegant Group of Companies were the main sponsor of the event.

KaDam also extended special thanks to Seena Devadiga for coming all the way from India to support the event.
