Mangaluru: Team Elegant from Moodbidri enters MPL semi-finals

Mangaluru, Dec 27: Team Elegant Moodbidri has made it to the semi-finals of Mangalore Premier League (MPL) which is being held from December 17 at NMPT grounds, Panambur here.

Team Elegant Moodbidri has made it to the semi-finals by winning four matches out of five. The first match was held between Team Elegant Moodbidri and Kankanady Knight Riders, second against Karkala Gladiators, third against Red Hawks Kudla, fourth match against Karavali Warriors and fifth match was against Maestro Titans.

The team's star performers include bowler Shivil Kaushik and batsman Bharath Dhuri. Overall, excellent fielding by the entire team enabled it to reach the penultimate stage of the tournament.

The semi-final will be played on Thursday, December 29 and the final on Friday December 30.

Other players of the Team Elegant are Vaishak Vijay, Anirudh Joshi, Manoj M, Bipin K P, Duke Kaveri, Vikram P S, Mohafiz Khader, Raghavendra Kulal, Yashwith, Sayed Muthahir Shah, Sarfaraz Malik, Ali Akhtar, Mohammed Riyaz, Usman Jakriyabba, Jayaprakash B Shetty, Arjun K C, Dinesh Bahadur, Unaif, Mohammed Iqbal and Mohammed Asif. Captain of the team is Bharath Dhuri and coach is Prakash Karkera.

In a noble initiative, Team Elegant Moodbidri also organised a six-over match for the special athletes of Saanidhya Residential School. They also spread awareness on environment protection with the theme 'Go Green', as part of which, green jerseys were worn by all the players in one match.
