Kasargod: Sixth standard student drowns in river

Kasargod, Dec 28: A K Adarsh. (12), son of A Kumaran, residing at Adarsh Nivas, Mayippady in the district, drowned in River Payasvini at Erinhipuzha, Malankadavu near Bovikkana.

The tragedy occurred on Tuesday December 27. The boy had visited the said village for attending house warming ceremony of a relative there. Along with some other children who had come there, he had ventured into River Payasvini for taking bath.

The boy soon started to struggle for survival. Locals found him drowning, and rushed to his rescue. He was immediately taken to a hospital, but the boy could not be saved.

Adarsh was a sixth standard student of the government upper primary school at Tekkilaparamba.
