Mangaluru, De 30: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) on Friday December 30 evacuated street vendors who were doing business near State Bank area in city.

MCC conducted the raid with the help of revenue officer Praveen and environment officer Madhukar and their teams. MCC also took protection from Mangaluru South police station for the raid.

MCC officials said the street vendors have not been doing business from the place allotted to them near the Town Hall. They have been instead operating from State Bank area which is not meant for them.

Despite resistance of street vendors at State Bank area, MCC managed to evacuate them.

Good job of MCC. MCC should not give permit to do the business on road side. They have no rules & regulations.Smell on road, crowd on roadside, vehicle parking road side because of this business, wastage on road. If we stop this roadside business our place also becomes neat, clean & descent. Let them do the business inside the building.

Right move by the MCC. It was difficult for the pedestrian to walk on the footpath as well as to park vehicles on the road from SBI to Town hall road due to the vendors. Let the MCC give a suitable place to these vendors to run their business and see that again these roads are not occupied by them.

People should always earn their living by doing the right thing in the first place. Encroachment, tax evasion, corruption, organized crime etc. will be short lived as we march towards developing nation.

MCC DOES DRAMA ONCE IN A YEAR BY VACATING STREET VENDORS.NOBODY SHOULD PERMIT TO KEEP THE SHOPS ON ROAD.STREET VENDORS ARE NOT PAYING TAX AND THEY SALE 2ND GOODS.THEY DONT MAINTAIN HEALTHY SYSTEM IN SALES OF FOOD ITEMS.SO ANYWHERE MAYBE SHOULD WATCH WHETHER THEY KEEP AGAIN AND AGAIN AND VACATE STRICTLY.

Our mcc don't have gusts to take action against the illegal commercial (parking place converted into shops) and Apartments. So they just fooling the citizens by disturbing the footpath vendors once in a blue moon.

In addition the MCC should clear all ramps which encroaches our main roads and also clear the roadside patch of gardens as they obstruct for the free movement of vehicles and also leads to accidents during night time. If our City should look smart then all these footpath and road encrochers be evicted.

I fully support the views of Mr. Kamath. In addtion I plead MCC to see that nearby houses are provided with access to road before issuing licence to the builders for construction of Apartments .

what these officials did was right, but at the same time let these corporation officials take action on illegal construction of buildings without approach of roads for which these builderes get commencement certificates after bribing these corporation officials & corporaters.
Selling vegeatables on foothpath is not legal ,also at the same time constructing buildings by showing fake plans to corporation officials is also illegal
