Bantwal: Police arrest two for dealing in ganja, seize items

Bantwal, Dec 30: Police from Vittal arrested two persons dealing in ganja and seized ganja and scooter from them at Alike near here on Friday, December 30.

Arman (25) from Uttar Pradesh and Kalandar Shafi (22) from Kanyana are the persons arrested. The seized items are 13 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 1.5 lac and scooter worth Rs 50,000.

Superintendent of police Gulabrao Borase, who suspected that heavy ganja trading was going on in the area, constituted a team of police personnel under the leadership DySP Raveesh C R, CPI Manjayya, Vittal PSI Nagaraju, ASI Rukmaya and others. The team which started to investigate the matter, managed to arrest the duo. The duo is believed to have been controlling the major chunk in the ganja business in the vicinity.
