Udupi, Dec 31: District in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj inaugurated the new Udupi block Congress Office at Brahmagiri here on Friday, December 30.

Minister Madhwaraj addressed the gathering said, "I thank member of the Rajya Sabha, Oscar Fernandes, on this occasion. Many districts do not have official party office yet. Party workers go door-to-door in the village to win the hearts of public and meet their needs. No party stays in power for long without the support of people. The political party and the government are there for catering to the needs of the public."

He added, " I will take part in ‘65 jana samparka sabhe’ at the end of September 2017. This will be held in 35 wards and 30 villages. Public service is the ultimate aim of a party."

In a different programme on the same day, Minister Madhwaraj distributed 90 Boat Feasibility Certificates (FC) to fishermen, at Taluk Panchayat office here. "After a long struggle, the fishermen have received this certificate. People could not get loan, pass book, RC without FC. Every fisher desires to own boat and lead an independent life. The renewal term of a boat has been reduced from 20 years to 5 years, and the term for transferring has been reduced from 2 years to 6 months" he said.

Minister Madhwaraj also said, "Strict rules are necessary while fishing, to conserve the fish. I will approach union minister of Agriculture, Radha Mohan Singh and chief minister Siddaramayya, to conduct a joint meeting for ministers of coastal states - Gujarat, Goa, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala and Pondicherry."
