Mangaluru: Siddaramaiah should quit, Congress will stop existing if he continues: Poojary

Mangaluru, Dec 31: Veteran Congress leader Janardhan Poojary on Saturday December 31 said that chief minister Siddaramaiah should resign from his office as a recent survey of people on who they preferred as their next chief minister had placed him third, with former chief ministers Yeddyurappa and Kumaraswamy taking the top two positions.

Addressing a press meet on the last day of the year, Poojary said, "In the survey conducted by a popular daily in the state, the people have opined that Yeddyurappa should be the next chief minister. Siddaramaiah is in the third position, which shows that the people of this state are fed up with Siddaramaiah.

"It is the right time for Siddaramaiah to step down and pave the way for Kharge or Parameshwar among the Dalits, D K Shivakumar or S M Krishna among the Vokkaligas, or S R Patil from the Lingayath community. I had predicted the same. The high command should consider any one of the above. If Siddaramaiah continues to be the chief minister for the next term, not only will Congress lose power but the party itself will cease to exist, as Siddaramaiah is a politician who believes in changing political parties for power," he charged.

Critising the state government for refusing to withdraw the Yettinahole project, Poojary said, "Union forest minister Anil Madhav Dhave has stated that no permission was given by the union ministry of forests to cut trees. If this is the case, how could the state government cut the trees? There is still time. You (Siddaramaiah) can make an announcement and stop the project. Instead of Yettinahole, you can go for the Mekedatu project or take the water from Narayanpura reservoir to Kolar. What is the need to stick to Yettinahole project?"

When asked about Siddaramaiah's remark that there was no need to give importance to Poojary's comments, the latter said, "It was Poojary who campaigned for you (Siddaramaiah) in Varuna. The Brahmans, the Lingayaths were not accepting Congress leaders and workers because of your attitude. When I went to every house they said, 'since it is you, we are letting you in'. You won by a margin of mere 267 votes in Varuna. If 137 votes had shifted, your political career would have finished. Keep that in mind."

Commenting on national issues, he said, "Prime Minister Modi must take steps to waive off the loans taken by farmers and announce new projects for the empowerment of youth and women. The UPA had abolished Rs 72,000 crore of farmers' loan. The Prime Minister has the power to do this, but he cannot, he must resign from office."

Though I personally like and extremely admire BJP( B Janardhan Poojari), donno why he speaks/give statements like this..,
At the same time the hardline/intolerant/uncivilian statements from our honorable MP Nalinji makes me feel like he is seemingly on the sidelines among his own party men & seniors.
My only wish is that BJP is not an aspirant for MP ticket from BJP..,
Insiders/bhakts are welcome to give their hint..,

kumarawamy is preferred candidate and can bounce back. He can easily become CM if he wishes. But Devegowda does not want that and thats he is giving foolish statements and sacking important MLAS .HDK Must take Sacked 8 MLAS back sooner the better . Devegowda wants to make party weak and thats he does not want them back(probably theres a financial gain here). All these 8 MLAS very powerful. If HDK shows party is strong people will vote orelse why will they vote? HDK must show people party has wings everywhere with offices and then people will vote. Better Get Up Now and you will Become CM 100%. JD(S) has strong roots. People who are in bJP now are EXJD(S) and HDK must bring some of these leaders back Plus new leaders .He has a Edge being strong Vokkaliga leader

If what Poojari saying that a tainted Yediurappa is more better and best opted for than Siddu, then its bad news for Cong. The party has to seriously start introspecting its issues and look forward. Or else it will be no surprise if Cong is replaced in 2018 in Ktaka.

Is Poojary in BJP or Congress?

His popularity can be only judged who fail to turn victorious despite three times given ticket from Congress.

Poojary these days acting more like BJP insider than true Congress.Perhaps may be waiting for his last luck from BJP in next Lok Sabha elections.

Increasing attack on Congress through press conference is nothing but he want Congress to expel him,so that he can join BJP and ask voters sympathy.

If Congress didn't find neutral candidate they might lose further.

If we go by press reports on surveys then demonetisation has support of the majority while the sample size is just 100 extrapolated to represent the whole. If people prefer Yediyurappa then the quality of such surveys should be tested by fire.

Siddaramaiah is the best CM Karnataka had after Ramakrishna Hegde. If Congres will not stop Poojary's bad mouth, same thing will happen to Congress what happened to Janata party by neglecting Ramakrishna Hegde and making Deve Gowda as PM.

Congress must have failed at Center (and people don't have a opposition against BJP to vote) but it is best in state due to Siddaramaiah.
